AVIcode Announces Release of Intercept Studio for
Smart Clients
AVIcode, an independent vendor of application fault
management software, has released Intercept Studio v2.3
which now works with smart client applications. This new
capability enables developers and operations managers to
monitor Windows Forms applications for errors and
quickly transfer the data to either Microsoft Operations
Manager 2005 or Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2003.
AVIcode Intercept v2.3 extends the functionality of
Intercept Studio to support Windows Forms technologies
and the Microsoft .NET Framework. The key benefit a user
derives is real-time notification of root cause error
information and application performance data. Intercept
Studio closes the gap between operations and development
by simultaneously delivering the same information and
notifications to application managers, QA personnel and
developers either in-house or outsourced.

- Real Time Performance Monitoring of Production
Platform - AVIcode's Intercept Studio pinpoints
performance bottlenecks in distributed business
transactions down to the individual Web service,
Microsoft .NET Remoting, ADO.NET, LDAP, or external
resource request calls by visually displaying
critical path within an application.
- .NET Framework Exception Monitoring – AVIcode's
Intercept collects detailed root cause information
about application failures including complete call
stack and run time data for faster issue resolution
and feeds data directly into Visual Studio .NET
2003.
- .NET Framework Application State View and Health
Model – Without relying on pre-deployment
instrumentation, AVIcode's Intercept Studio
automatically detects .NET Framework-based
applications and monitors the state of underlying
ASP.NET, .NET Remoting, and Web service components.
- .NET Framework Application Events – Critical
event information generated by Intercept Studio is
then automatically reported into MOM and immediately
stored in Intercept Event Views, whereupon system
operators are notified to be in position to properly
escalate the event to the developers responsible for
issue resolution.
