AVIcode Announces Latest Release of Intercept Studio
Leading .NET Monitoring Tool Features Improved
Usability and Enhanced Debugging Information
AVIcode, the leading provider of application and
performance monitoring tools for the .NET environment,
today announced general availability of the latest
release of Intercept Studio. The latest version, dubbed
Intercept Studio 2.3.4, delivers more user-friendly
features, collects additional event information, and
supports Windows 2003 SP1 along with added
globalization.
"We've streamlined the deployment of Intercept
Studio, making it even easier for our customers to start
monitoring their applications," said Victor Mushkatin,
CTO of AVIcode. "Once deployed, this latest version
collects even more useful debugging information, and
delivers it automatically to development and support in
order to shorten error resolution times."
The latest release of Intercept Studio streamlines
the deployment process by improving the delivery of
monitoring agents to the appropriate servers. Once
deployed, agents gather exception and performance
bottleneck information as it occurs and report securely
back to the operations team. This alert can be delivered
via email, and Intercept Studio now offers additional
fault context in its email to enable faster debugging.
Intercept Studio aggregates all exception
information, and now enables users to find specific
exceptions by type critical or non-critical. This
allows support and development teams to target unhandled
errors first and explore non-critical errors to
determine better means for handling or resolving them
all together. In addition, Intercept Studio supports
resource grouping by type (OLEDB, ODBC, SQL, Web
Service, etc.), providing operations teams with a
summary performance level view of the call stack,
enabling faster resolution of performance degradations.
Event throttling is also supported in Intercept
Studio 2.3.4. Intercept Studio intelligently detects
spikes in events and automatically restricts alerts for
similar events. For example, if a SQL server goes down,
a large number of similar SQL exceptions will occur.
With Intercept Studio, the alert will only be sent a
pre-determined number of times, while the count of
occurrences will automatically increase. This ensures
optimal use of system resources while maintaining
Intercept Studio's small network footprint.
"Intercept Studio bridges the gap between development
and operations," said Mike Curreri, AVIcode's CEO.
"Intercept Studio's ability to intelligently monitor and
deliver critical information is helping make the vision
of autonomic computing a reality. This latest release
makes it even easier for companies to monitor and manage
their in-production applications, allowing them to save
significant hard and soft costs."
Intercept Studio 2.3.4 is available now, and an
Operations Edition of the product is being distributed
by Microsoft as the .NET Management Pack for MOM 2005.
