EVOLUTION BENEFITS WINS NETWORK WORLD AWARD FOR WORK WITH AVICODE
 

BALTIMORE, Maryland and AVON, CT, 8/08/2006 – Evolution Benefits, the leader in innovative prepaid benefits cards, has won Network World’s prestigious Enterprise All-Star Award for its work with Baltimore-based AVIcode, Inc.

Evolution Benefits’ Benny Program is a pioneering service that enables better administration and management of eligible benefits. As part of the program, Evolution Benefits has introduced the Benny prepaid benefits card which covered members can use to pay for eligible, out-of-pocket healthcare expenses. Critical to the success of this system is the ability to provide their members with direct, uninterrupted, real-time access to the Benny central database. To ensure availability and reliability of their system, Evolution Benefits selected AVIcode’s Intercept Studio, the leading .NET application monitoring solution.

“By providing always-on monitoring of our application for coding issues and performance bottlenecks, AVIcode’s Intercept Studio enables us to react before customers ever recognize there may be a problem or performance degradation in accessing our database,” says Sean Erwin, VP of Application Development at Evolution Benefits.

According to Erwin, Intercept Studio’s ability to capture data in real-time has allowed Evolution Benefits to troubleshoot, diagnose, fix, and redeploy proactively, allowing customers to enjoy uninterrupted service and a high level of confidence in the Benny debit card. “As a result, uptime is now 100 percent and ROI has been realized,” says Erwin.

Out of 200 nominations submitted this year, the Network World Enterprise All-Star Awards honor only 40 companies for their groundbreaking network projects. The award program looks for user organizations that demonstrate exceptional use of network technology to further business objectives and serve as role models for their industries.

“They were named a winner for their approach to application performance monitoring, which gave them the ability to ensure their customers had seamless, real-time access to data, using their existing systems,” said Beth Schultz, editor of Network World’s Enterprise All-Star Issue, and judge of the Enterprise All-Star Awards.

Since they began using Intercept Studio, the firm has experienced a 25-30 percent reduction in operating costs, while consultant costs have been cut in half. The original investment in the technology was recouped in the first six months of use.
