AVIcode Announces SQL Reporting Services Management Pack

New Product Detects and Diagnoses Existing and Potential Failures in the Reporting Services Environment

BALTIMORE, Maryland, 04/29/2008 – AVIcode, Inc., a leading provider of real-time, always-on application monitoring solutions, today announced the AVIcode SQL Reporting Services Management Pack which monitors, detects and diagnoses problems affecting custom reports rendered by Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services and provides data on custom report usage including trend analysis and correlation of usage with resource utilization, all within Microsoft System Center Operations Manager 2007.

“Organizations worldwide rely on SQL Server Reporting Services as a central, common reporting platform to derive and share critical business information,” said Victor Mushkatin, CTO at AVIcode. “Complete visibility into this environment is critical for ensuring timely access to accurate and valuable information to help drive well-informed business decisions.”

The AVIcode Reporting Services Management Pack enhances the capabilities of System Center Operations Manager 2007 by enabling monitoring for failures, performance degradations, connectivity and security issues in custom reports. When a problem within a custom report is detected, the AVIcode SQL Reporting Services Management Pack automatically classifies the error and provides a complete root cause analysis, including a reproducible test case, empowering organizations to quickly resolve problems and best ensure the availability and reliability of custom reports.

“System Center Operations Manager 2007 provides end-to-end service management, helping customers increase efficiency and achieve high control over their IT environment,” said Robert Reynolds, director of System Center product management at Microsoft Corp. “Combined with System Center Operations Manager and the Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Management Pack, the AVIcode Reporting Services Management Pack provides a richer solution for monitoring the SQL reporting environment and further improves efficiency, by enabling quicker resolution of issues.”

AVIcode SQL Reporting Services Management Pack provides automated discovery and configuring capabilities, including the ability to customize SLA performance thresholds for custom reports. It monitors for security and connectivity problems related to incorrect configuration of report data sources, networks and SQL Server. AVIcode provides real-time detection of report failures related to erroneous SQL statements and data inconsistency, and identification of performance bottlenecks related to long-running SQL queries. It also delivers extensive reporting on performance and availability over time, as well as trend analysis and correlation of custom report usage with server resource utilization.
