Services Management Pack extends the monitoring
capabilities of Operations Manager 2007 by
detecting and diagnosing problems affecting custom
reports rendered by Reporting Services, including
problems with SQL queries and both connectivity and
security issues. When a problem is detected, AVIcode’s

root-cause diagnostic data than enables appropriate
problem triage and rapid error resolution. With

rendered by Reporting Services are available when they

In addition, the
AVIcode Reporting Services Management Pack complements
the rules and models defined by the Microsoft SQL Server
2005 Management Pack. The Microsoft SQL Server 2005
Management Pack monitors SQL Server functionality and
provides statistical data on custom report performance.
The AVIcode Reporting Services Management Pack augments
this data by providing run-time information that can be
used to optimize the reports. The AVIcode Management
Pack can detect a slow query, for example, within a
custom report and automatically alert an administrator.
That administrator can then drill down to see how many
SQL calls that report makes to the SQL Server.
Specifically, the AVIcode Reporting Services Management Pack provides:
- Automated discovery and configuring of the
AVIcode management pack, including monitoring of the
Reporting Service interface and Report web service.
- Monitoring for security and connectivity
problems related to incorrect configuration of
report data sources, networks, and SQL Server.

- Real-time identification of performance
bottlenecks related to long-running SQL queries.
- Extensible reporting on web service usage,
including the report parameters, and custom
reporting of reporting solution performance and
availability over time.
- Detection and Correlation of reporting web
services resource utilization for Memory, CPU and
I/O with overall Windows Server resource utilization
for Memory, CPU and I/O at the moment a problem
occurs.
- Trending Analysis for Memory, CPU and I/O
resource utilization for reporting web services.
